Review of The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) by Corey N — 23 May 2010
This is a decent movie. I watched the remake of this before I ever watched this original version. The film stars Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. McQueen is a playboy millionaire that sets up a bank heist for the challenge of it.
Dunaway is the bank's insurance ivestigator that is trying to track down the money. Of course both these characters cross paths and the game begins. The remake and the original are very similar yet also very different.
This version heist is money from a bank. The remake has a stolen painting. Plus the ending is different between the two. McQueen and Dunaway are both decent in this. But I prefer the remake with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
This film had a few plot holes in it compared to the remake. Plus the two heist in the bank were not as interesting as the painting theft in the remake. But if you enjoyed the remake then I would suggest checking the original version as well.
