The best of British filmmaking: both innovative and entertaining. Beautifully and daringly shot by Carol Reed, a taught and gripping script from Graham Greene, a wonderful zither soundtrack and some brilliant performances, especially from Orson Welles.
A truly groundbreaking film, a landmark in cinematic history.
