Review of The Thing from Another World (1951) by Scott L — 14 Oct 2011
A movie that yes, even today, stands the test of time. The slow pace and desolate surroundings of Antarctica really build to the final showdown with the alien. But you really have to take the movie out of its science fiction role and look at it in more of a geopolitical way for films the 1950s.
The Thing is nothing more than our fear of the Russians / communist of the 1950s. This is a true gem of a movie.
