Review of The Thing from Another World (1951) by Wes S — 16 Mar 2012
A very good, upper-tier, '50s sci-fi horror. Carpenter's remake wisely took most of what worked in this one, and threw in just the right amount of slight changes to make his remake a more effective horror film, but that probably wouldn't have been the case without this film's solid frame-work to build upon.
