A decent horror film... I would have marked it higher if it wasn't so overwhelmingly similar to the original... As far as being a prequel goes, they did set it up surprisingly well, but overall, unoriginal and predictable.
A film like this should never be as predictable as this was, they have literally the best surprise angle a movie could have... Short on scares and excessive on CGI shots of "The Thing"... The first film was a classic, why add the CGI? It was unnecessary.
.. But overall, a decent horror flick.
