Review of The Thing (2011) by Henry L — 25 Nov 2018
The Thing isn't a bad movie but the fact that it is a prequel to one of the most revered horror-science fiction films ever makes it ultimately a disappointment- but not by much. If you have seen John Carpenter's The Thing you'll be aware that there was a Norwegian base that unfortunately becomes subjected to the aliens that had crash landed.
This film is about that base and the events here take place 3 days prior to the ones in the 1982 film. The sets are good, the atmosphere-whilst not as great as the earlier film is passable. This is a good film though not a great one like the 1982 version.
