The CGI is laughable compared to the animatronics of the '82 version, which just goes to show you how essential real materials can be. As for the story, it ties in well to the original, and is the most interesting part.
It's just too bad that the atmosphere of the original was unable to be replicated. A worthy addition to the franchise, but don't expect miracles.
