Extremely underrated. I don't get the negative reviews. Because of them I was expecting a trash movie, but it was actually decent. Of course it's not a life changing experience, but it's incredibly true to the 80s original and acts as a sequel with all ties near-perfectly connected.
You might argue, that some rare parts might be a little quirky and even foreseeable at times, especially if you know the original movie, but it's by far not bad at all. It's not trash and it's worth watching.
