Review of The Thing (1982) by Allen G — 21 Apr 2013

Though it's fairly dated (unavoidable with the genre really) it's still a genuinely creepy horror that's way grosser than plenty of the CGI that's followed it- a real achievement and I'm sure it stood out upon its release.

There's not much to the characters but I guess it's all about "the thing" anyway and the performances are fine. It's really just worth watching for the visuals which, will they may make you laugh at times, they'll mostly make you squirm. For the time and effort that must have went into it, it deserves a fresh rating but it's also a decent film so pretty good all round.
