Review of The Thin Man (1934) by Elizabeth S — 24 Oct 2009
Visually there is nothing spectacular here, but it does have a good plot and there is some great acting, especially the William Powell character Nick. He is brilliant, strong acting and sneaking a drink all the way through the film, I love his attitude and he is the backbone to the entire film.
Also Nick and his wife Nora, play off each other very well, and together they are comic master-class. The only problem I have with this film, is that it has to many characters, and they all end up being suspects, which is quite fun when we get to the films finally, but I did find it hard to work out who was who.
Overall a very solid film, and seeing it's over 75 years old, it does well for it's age.
