Review of The Thief of Bagdad (1940) by Ana B — 07 Jul 2012
This is a classic wonderful film made in competition with Wizard of Oz. I was glad to watch this movie. I have watched it on many occasions, simply because of professionally crafted characters like Jaffer (Conrad Veidt), Prince Achmad (John Justin) and Abu (Sabu).
They were fine choices for fine characters. It doesn't stretch too long, you are experiencing cunning tactics of Jaffar, and faithfulness of friendship in shape of Abu, and true love of Achmad. Behind all this charismatic plot, comes fantasy world, it works like charm on this already well-woven piece of art.
