Review of The Thief of Bagdad (1924) by Madeline M — 02 Oct 2008
Uh, so this movie is incredibly dated (would it have killed Douglas Fairbanks to put on a shirt?) but it's a very skillful fantasy. I think that the subtitle is worth remembering. There are a lot of incredible beautiful images here.
It's a bit too long, though, and I think the Powell/Pressburger version is better all around.
