Review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006) by Matt W — 30 Sep 2009
I got to admit I was worried about this from the 1st moment I heard about it. But the idea slowly grew on me and as soonas I knew it was availible for import I snapped it up. And boy wasnt I surprised.
A prequel, and story telling of how our one and only Leatherface and his madness progressed through his young life and the 'family' that he grew up around.
This film works on so many levels, whilst it is no TTCM (73) its a damn good take on how Thomas Hewitt (Leatherface) makes his way to one hell of a psyco chainsaw wielding maniac.
Not for the squemish, a very serious and very dark macabre piece of modern horror filmmaking, this one is going to go down as a mini cult classic, and anyone with an interest in the origianals of the series should watch it.
