Review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006) by Timothy H — 27 Mar 2011
This movie misses opportunity for a background story and just dives in to the teens getting hacked up. The only parts that show a background story or an uprising is Leather Face's mom giving birth on a meat factory floor and his uncle or grand dad having his legs cut off, a character upon others that were added in to all the remakes to replace the older cast which BTW was much more intertaining.
I don't understand why they had to replace Bill Moseley's character Chop Top, he was very funny and not to mention creepy as hell. Instead you get a grouchy old man with no legs and a bunch of old women talking about diet tea at a table.
I do give them credit for using R. Lee Ermey as the dad, he does remind me of the dad from the first movie and he is a hoot to watch, "I smell Bullshit," was one of his lines. Instead of him being a butcher, he's a farmer who wears a deputy uniform and drives around in a squad car.
I would give this movie 1 star.
