Review of The Ten Commandments (1956) by George H — 19 Jul 2009
A films so grand and majestic that it is a total classic. The large scale of actors and writers and props and costumes are not wasted in this amazing epic. Even in 1956, the special effects shot where Moses parts the sea is still breathtaking.
The close-up shots look like the Red Sea is actually parting. Charlton Heston and a whole cast of talent really take it up a notch with their roles. Even though a bit long, very good storytelling done at its best.
