Review of The Ten Commandments (1956) by Michael E — 26 Dec 2010
I remember watching this movie a lot as a child, and man was it epic.
Charlton Heston is absolutely brilliant here, and would later go on playing more epic films like Ben Hur.
I really enjoyed the use of the sets, and the matte paintings generating an grand scale of scope.
Some of the dialogue is cheezy, but the performances and the cinematography overshadow this.
A great film to watch.
