Review of The Tall Man (2012) by Andy C — 28 Apr 2014
Finally, some closure; this is not a slender man movie. not even remotely. and its all the better for it. in one of the best cases of the "Never Trust a Trailer" trope, this film actually had a tonne more depth than the 'spooky paranormal' style that it was promoted as.
Pascal Laugier made a very uncomfortable-yet-engaging impression with Martyrs, and the grounded horror approach worked really well again here. similarly, it might get a little preachy in parts, and its Aesop might be a a little grey, but that always makes for good argument fodder afterwards :).
