Hollywood has killed another wonderful book. The Tale of Despereaux is one of the best books I've read to my kids over the past few years, but this film adaption may as well have had a different name.
There were so many unnecessary departures from the original I stopped counting after a while. Highly disappointing, and the departures were NOT better than the original story. It was the same old, same old that we've seen in adventure films since film was invented.
Skip this bummer and read the book for something original and wonderful.
