Review of The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974) by Vanessa J — 04 Jul 2009
Gritty, tough, and no frills...unlike the remake. This subway thriller boasts superb performances from Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw, who breathe life into their characters. The supporting cast offers fine support while Peter Stone's script pulls no punches.
Director Joseph Sargent neatly balances the action and character development from the first shot to the last.
