Review of The Sword of Doom (1966) by Alexander A — 18 Apr 2009
This is a very, very odd film. it has one of the most unlikeable and evil protagonists I have ever seen and when it reaches its very unexpected conclusion, the storylines seem strangely unfulfilled. apparently there was supposed to be at least one sequel to this film, which would explain it.
I find it funny that of all the films I have seen lately, including Synecdoche, New York, this is the one I found the least comprehensible. stunning cinematography and a main character with the most evil stare I have ever seen.
some great sword fighting scenes, including one where Toshiro Mifune once again proves why he's one of the Toughest Men in movie history.
