I have been a huge fan of Cagney movies all my life, and in many ways this may be my favorite. It is particularly appealing as a nostalgia piece, perfectly capturing the simple (albeit undoubtedly unrealistic) tone of the times in which the story occurs.
If you're a nostalgia buff, this is perfect escapism entertainment.
