Review of The Straight Story (1999) by Michael S — 21 Mar 2008
The unlikely combination of Disney and Lynch yields a sluggish but touching story. The film is recognizably Lynch, but certainly not in the alien baby/ ear on the ground sort of way. It's the full-blooded American small town folk, photography, dialogue, humor, and some eerie white noise that remind one of the Twin Peaks television series at least.
I would recommend it if you're in the right mood.
