Tragic story of Adele Hugoâ??s unrequited love which led her to insanity. Truffautâ??s direction centers around Adjaniâ??s strong performance (she was only 19 when it was filmed). One of Truffautâ??s darker piece and not his best but still worth repeated viewing mainly for Adjani's stellar performance.
