Review of The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) by Aysha S — 22 Apr 2009
If For Your Eyes Only is Moore's best serious Bond, then this is his best that uses the standard "Bond formula." The production design is stunning and the plot, though outlandish, is played with the right degree of seriousness and humor.
The addition of a female agent and the death of her lover is an interesting twist; however, the villain's plot is memorable while the villain is not. The opening and title song is unbelievable, but the rest of the music suffers from disco-mania, to the point that it becomes problematic.
