Review of The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) by Steve B — 20 Nov 2010
Once again one of my all time favourite 007 movies which has been with me from VHS then a re-release, DVD and it's few re-releases, SKY+HD and eventually Blu-ray. This movie also features one of the best Bond gadgets and action scenes, the Lotus car / submarine with it's defence systems.
The other factor of this movie I like is the difference in soundtrack, the Stromberg / Atlantis theme is like a 'fairground' theme and then there's the variations of the 'Bond 77' track which really suits the action scenes and feels and sounds like proper spy music.
The enemy Jaws stars in this movie along side Stromberg, but does survive. The idea of story behind the movie is also one of world domination by the enemy so proper villain.
