Review of The Spy Who Came In from the Cold (1965) by Johannes J — 29 Oct 2009
I'm not a big spy movie fan, but this one is quite different. It's not in colour for one thing like a James Bond film or other British spy adventures and it doesn't create good spies versus bad spies.
It's in stark black and white, which I thought really worked for it, and doesn't rely on cliches or action sequences. It shows the seedy, corruption of both sides in the cold war. Something that should be recognized more often.
