Review of The Skeleton Twins (2014) by Mark S — 21 Dec 2014
This movie, about siblings, heartache, guilt and hope, is funny and dark and infectiously likable. Kristin Wiig and Bill Hader play brother and sister who have drifted apart over the past 10 years. They're brought together through tragic circumstances but continuously infuse humor, if not somewhat darkly, in a subtle and uplifting manner.
The Skeleton Twins is a good movie with some great and touching scenes. One scene is guaranteed to make you smile and ranks as one of my favorite scenes on film in a while. Kristen Wiig is an astonishing actress and one of the few actors who can project humor and drama so eloquently.
..sometimes in the same scene. On an interesting note, this was produced by the Duplass brothers. I've found that they are writing, acting and producing some of my favorite movies over the past 2 years.
