Review of The Sixth Sense (1999) by Dov D — 30 Oct 2013
The Sixth Sense is M Night Shyamalan's masterpiece, which isn't saying that much, but it is a good film. The acting of Bruce Willis and especially of Haley Joel Osment is outstanding. The direction is solid and the script is better than the average Shyamalan film.
The twist at the end has become known as one of the best twists in film history and, regardless of that statement's validity, it is never dull... Though when you watch it a second time, it's absurd that he didn't notice sooner.
Bottom line, this is a very good sci-fi/horrorish drama that most people will enjoy. I'd recommend it, especially to the few people who don't know how it ends.
