Review of The Silent House (2010) by Dieguchi D — 05 May 2011
I have to give this some kind of acknowledgement for its original atmosphere and genuine creepiness, to be honest the scene with the poloaroid camera really got to me. But overall, due mostly to the film's 2nd half, it's a let down. Shot in a single take (allegedly), The Silent House clearly shows 'less is more', with minimal characters and a single location it does on some level succeed. For me. the problem was the plot (if you could even call it that), I just didn't buy it, which is a shame.
Only worth to rent.
