Review of The Silence of the Lambs (1991) by Darrell T — 22 Jun 2013
One of the greatest...and scariest...movies of.
All time. Jodie Foster & Anthony Hopkins star in a kind of cat & mouse game trying to catch a serial killer of women. Scott Glenn plays an FBI Agent in charge of Behavioral Sciences. Ted Levine is very creepy as serial killer "Buffalo Bill. But it's Foster as a rookie FBI Agent & Hopkins as the insane psychiatrist, Dr. Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter, that make this movie what it is. Winner of "The Big 5" Oscars...Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress & Best (Adapted) Screenplay...one of only 3 movies in history & the last to do so as of 2012...Hopkins powerful and unforgettable performance as Lecter, was named AFI's greatest villain in movie history, even though he appeared on screen for just over 16 minutes...the difference between this movie and traditional.
Horror films, is that the monsters in those movies are make believe while the monsters portrayed in this movie are based on numerous real life serial killers...watch this in the daytime and then watch a comedy after or you WILL have nightmares...unforgettable.
