Review of The Silence of the Lambs (1991) by John B — 30 Dec 2014
This film made Hannibal Lector one of the best on screen characters of all time. I've heard people say that the Brian Cox performance was the better of the two. I'd have to disagree Hopkins adds so much depth to the character it's unreal. He makes lector charming yet terrifying sinister but funny. No one else before or since achieved this on screen. The relationship between Lector and Starling is so well portrayed by Foster and Hopkins, which is something Julianne Moore failed to achieve in Hannibal.
This film is so well put together from start to finish that it doesn't matter how many times you watch it still delivers the same punch. It is by far the better than of all the Hannibal movies and the new tv series.
