Review of The Silence of the Lambs (1991) by Noah F — 20 Jan 2015
I'm going with the current here by saying that Anthony Hopkins, Jodie Foster, and Ted Levine gave great performances, but Hopkins and Foster made this film. Foster's Sterling can never be matched in my opinion, and the chemistry and psyche-combat between the two really sells this grisly concept to you in the first few minutes of the film.
The cinematography is impeccable. It's so beautifully filmed, and even when the content of the shot contains such grotesque images of gore and blood, it was so elegantly photographed that it maintained its artfulness.
The score itself was a piece of dialogue. It in itself spoke to me as the intensity developed. Brilliant.
