A nicely elegiac Western that is tarnished by a climactic shootout that doesn't make a lot of sense, as we haven't seen enough of Wayne's opponents to precisely understand their motivations for wanting to attempt to kill him.
Still, Wayne and Lauren Bacall give fine performances and are nice to watch together.
