I haven't enjoyed Kevin Spacey in a film since Pay It Forward. Just now I streamed him in The Shipping News (2001) on Netflix. Its the best work he's ever done. Stellar cast, too, and beautiful cinematography.
How did I miss it? I guess we were all preoccupied in 2001. Andrew Saris called it the most underrated film of 2001.
