This movie works because it employs the element of the "slow burn." A true thriller gets your heartbeat racing once the action finally comes. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about here. The buildup to Jack going all whacko all over Olive Oyl is such a steady consistent crescendo that it has become of the gold standards of sorts for this type of movie.
