Review of The Shining (1980) by Harry W — 05 Sep 2014
Stanley Kubrick does not quite grasp the supernatural horror that made Stephen King's novel so impactful and frightening. His visual storytelling can not make up for the lackluster performance of Shelly Duvall or the dragged out plot.
Jack Nicholson is the only saving gem of this movie however overacted and cliched his performance as Jack Torrence may be.
