Review of The Shape of Water (2017) by Corey Z — 27 Feb 2018
I was a bit disappointed by this film. Admittedly my expectations were high going into it. The premise is magnificent and the trailer got me so excited to see what looked like a wonderful mix of Amelie's charm with Pan's Labyrinth's visuals and ultimately that is exactly what this film is, no less but nothing more either.
The highlights were in the performances across the board and also the creature design. Overall it was an enjoyable watch but pretty much exactly what you might expect.
