How did this film receive so much acclaim? Was it a slow movie year? I thought it was weird, awful and hokey. I also do not understand the need for the masturbation scenes, total nudity and sex scene. Leave them out and the point(s) are still made.
The "asset" a/k/a monster was also silly and not enough pure bonding scenes with it and the protagonist. I walked out.
