Review of The Shape of Water (2017) by Allen L — 27 Dec 2017
A very good film. Very imaginative---it creates its own world with its own look. It was obviously made by a man who loves movies. It is moving at the end. One minor quibble (memo to del Toro)---you don't need the voice-over framing device at the beginning and (especially) at the very end.
The images have to tell the story---and they do! Still, wondrous, exciting and romantic.
