Review of The Shallows (2016) by Linda I — 17 Jul 2016
When I go to see a shark attack movie, I want to see the shark attacking people! We have a drunk guy stagger into the water, and instead of watching the shark tear the guy apart, we have a close-up of Blake's face.
Okay, we've already had plenty of loving pans over Blake's legs and butt and boobs etc., now we have to deal with her crumpling face while all the good action happens off screen. So as far as this being a tense exciting thriller, that aspect was pretty much totally a miss.
The redeeming character was the seagull. The rest of the movie was pretty bland.
