Review of The Shallows (2016) by Jake A — 16 Apr 2017

Lean, mean but ultimately satisfying survival horror that has a solid premise that is anchored by a terrific lead performance by Blake Lively. It also looks great, I love the setting, plenty of tense scenes, the gore is well handled and even though it isn't all that deep script or plot wise I am actually glad in this instance it is stripped down as it means it doesn't get bogged down and outstay its welcome.
