Review of The Serpent's Egg (1977) by Mark S — 28 Apr 2013
Rare english language bergman film, its definitely my least favorite of any of the ones ive seen of his, it doesnt look or feel anything like a bergman film, ullman is solid as always, and its cool to see goldfinger pop up, but carradines character is such a unlikable asshole, I couldnt stand him, and it was confusing too, I couldnt tell what was going on sometimes, at the end, when everything is explained, it just seemed so random and not in touch with the rest of the film, even tho this is 1920s Berlin, theres a character that seems to be a 1970s black jive guy, idk what was going on, it started out decent, with potential, but just fell apart.
