Review of The Serpent's Egg (1977) by Laurent M — 04 Aug 2008
Not Bergman's finest, but well worth seeing -- especially in conjunction with German Expressionist cinema of the 20s and 30s, which Bergman was trying to recreate here. Carradine is adequate, Ullman is astonishing, and Gert Frobe gives a fine performance.
Sets and photography are magnificent.
