Review of The Searchers (1956) by Mark L — 10 Nov 2010
I had only seen The Grapes of Wrath, but it was in HS years ago. Now, having seen The Searchers, I can finally (!) see why Ford is one of the greats in movies (if not second to Hitchcock). He does not seem to do much at all as far as camera work goes, but still makes every second as important as the next.
It seems almost animated in its beauty.
