Review of The Sea Hawk (1940) by Barry L — 17 May 2008
More great swashbuckling derring-do from Flynn and Curtiz. One of Flynn's best roles as privateer Geoffrey Thorpe, a Sea Hawk in service to Queen Elizabeth I. Lots of great action, bravery, treachery, and romance.
With effectively staged swordplay and a rousing speech at the end by her majesty (timely considering the threat of the Nazis when this film was released).
