Review of The Sea Hawk (1940) by Brandon S — 25 Feb 2010
If in the early 21st century there is Pirates of the Caribbean, then in the 20th century, this pirate-themed movies are the best of the best. If Johnny Depp had fixed on the audience's heart through POTC, then Errol Flynn had done it 60 years earlier.
Different, if POTC has a supernatural element, then the Sea Hawk had elements of statehood is very thick, so this movie was more complex and mature. Without doubt, this movie is the mother of the pirate-themed film that many produced thereafter.
Masterpiece! Classic is expensive!
