Review of The School for Good and Evil (2022) by Jluis_001 — 25 Oct 2022
Paul Feig has never directed a good movie in his entire life and he was given what is probably the biggest budget of his career to helm an overstuffed and boring story of fantasy.
There is no soul or strength in this movie. I didn't find any of its characters to be really interesting and that's more of a problem than you can imagine.
Truth be told I wasn't expecting much, I had an idea of what I was going to see and that was basically it, so my disappointment is not based on what the film is, but on its inability to achieve any of the splendor that its proposal and production size seemed to aspire to.
The irony is that I think this might have worked more for Netflix as a series rather than a movie, but had that happened, they wouldn't have been able to secure the biggest names in its cast.
This is content filler with the ambition to create a franchise.
I certainly think they will get a sequel though.
