Review of The Sapphires (2012) by Paul I — 06 Sep 2012
A fun, interesting, mostly-true, exciting Australian film! Chris O'Dowd is great and anchors the performances of the four Sapphires, who actually sing pretty well, but it doesn't overtake the whole film.
There's a great soundtrack otherwise, but plenty of humour makes the whole movie worthwhile and it doesn't get bogged down in serious topics like the Vietnam War & the Stolen Generation, even though they're obviously an important part of the movie.
