Unless you speak Russian, you might never know what the Russians in this movie are saying. Next to nothing was known about the Soviet Union at that time; facts were skewed with fiction and propaganda. This movie was so brilliantly cast - I adore all the actors in this, especially Carl Reiner and Alan Arkin.
Watching the landing party of a beached Russian submarine sneak through the town of a small island was hilarious, as the inhabitants panic over the quickly-spreading tales of a Russian invasion.
