Review of The Running Man (1987) by Gerardo R — 09 Jun 2013
A cheesy fun movie. Arnold escapes from prison after falsely accused, but when he is captured again he is sent to the television show The Running Man where inmates have a chance at freedom if they win (but the game is rigged no matter what).
It has Arnold smoking cigars and delivering one liners that make you cringe, but all in good fun. Maria Conchita Alonso is fun to watch. It is interesting that the dance choreography was done by Paula Abdul (I did not know about her until her American Idol days).
It's funny that this movie had two future governors: Arnold and Jesse Ventura. A fun, macho, cheesy movie to enjoy once in a while. Stephen King was not happy about this adaptation.
